Seviliya’s Philosophy

About Seviliya

Seviliya was born in Kazakhstan, earned her MD and went on to specialize in dermatology and aesthetic care.

She did a 7-year residency in a major regional hospital in the former Soviet Union, where she worked hands-on with patients of all ages and backgrounds, treating skin conditions across the entire body.

During this time, Seviliya also earned her certificate in aesthetic care from the Parisian Decléor Institute, after which she opened her own business through Decléor, offering professional body and facial skin care procedures while continuing to work in her residency.

She’s also certified in Su Jok Acupuncture, which originated in South Korea. During her residency, Seviliya was sent to Ankara, Turkey, where she applied her knowledge in esthetics and acupuncture to help grow a start-up business in health and wellness.

Upon her arrival in the United States in 2001, due to her depth of experience in the medical and esthetic fields, the Maryland Department of Labor granted her license in esthetic care.

Up to this point, Seviliya’s experience had been in the Central Asian and European markets. She was now excited to explore the needs of U.S. clients, so she spent five years working for the Natural Body Day Spa, as well as other local spas, in the Potomac area of Maryland. During this time, she was also accepting private clients and building her overall experience.

Finally, in 2007, Seviliya officially opened her business, Seviliya Skin Spa, in Salon Plaza.

Behind the Experience

Seviliya loves teaching people how to properly care for their unique skin types. She finds joy in teaching her younger clients how to care for their changing skin as they go through their teenage years and beyond.

At the same time, she loves providing services that focus on mature skin. She’s constantly researching non-invasive treatments that tighten and tone the skin, incorporating the latest science into her list of services.

She takes an individual approach to each client, advising on the right skin care products and diet to maintain their healthy, glowing complexion. She also takes into account the effects of food and environmental allergies, as a part of a holistic approach.

As Seviliya likes to say, "When you improve your skin, you improve your overall sense of well-being.
